The optical tube rides on our state-of-the-art Dobsonian base, equipped with springless CorrecTension friction control for smooth movement and always-perfect tube balance.

This telescope comes complete with a 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser, two Sirius Plossl eyepieces, 6x30 finder scope, eyepiece rack, "nav" knob, carrying handle, and snap-on dust cap.

IntelliScopeŽ Computerized Object Locator (included), provides computerized ppointing access to 14,000+ objects. Simply plug the Computerized Object Locator into the base of your SkyQuest XT8 IntelliScope and you're all set to locate and view any of 14,000 celestial objects.

You simply select an object from the user-friendly menu buttons, then move the telescope in the direction of the guide arrows on the LCD screen. In seconds, the IntelliScope's two high-resolution digital encoders pinpoint the object, placing it right in the telescope's field of view.

The internal database includes 837 stars (including double and variable stars), 7,840 NGC objects, 5,386 IC objects, 101 Messier objects, 8 planets, and 99 user-entered objects. It also features 12 monthly tours of the coolest objects.
